To start off when training your puppy you want to determine where your puppy should and shouldn’t go. You might want to confine them to your kitchen initially as puppy prefer to go on carpets than on hard floors. Below I have listed a few different puppy house training tips that are very effective.
Puppy House Training Tips
Crate Training - This is a really good method for puppy house breaking and works really well for all ages of puppy. It is very effective in potty training as the puppy will not want to go to the toilet in the area where they sleep if they can avoid it.
Puppy Pads – These are disposable and absorbent pads that you place onto the floor in the area you want your puppy pee or poop. This is another effective method of puppy house training, although it is not as useful as crate training as you need to constantly watch them in the early stages.
Establish a Routine - When you embark on puppy house training it is critical to establish a routine from the outset and stick to it. Once you have put the routine in place it will be very easy for you to succeed in training your puppy. Just making sure the dog gets fed at a regular time and is then let out to ‘go’ immediately afterward will work wonders. It also helps the routine to take them out for a walk at a regular time.
As with all dog training methods, puppy house training requires some patience and perseverance and above all be consistent. Within a few short weeks you will see some results creeping in. This is a great time as you can see all of your hard work begin to be rewarded and in no time at all your puppy house training will be over and you can enjoy owning a well trained dog.
